Idea & Development
14 months, 20 different pocket constructions, over 160 sewn prototypes and more than 20 test carriers.
Founding Story:
By an insulin pump carrier in Fridas environment, they became aware of the problem for the first time in 2016: Many pump users would like to have a comfortable, inconspicuous but at the same time beautiful solution to carry their insulin pump.
During the development, they sought support from the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, which included us in their Startup Scholarship Program in January 2017. Our insulin pump pocket panties have been developed in close collaboration with doctors, diabetes experts and pump users and designed with great attention to detail.
Who Is Behind Ruby Limes?
Katharina Gail - CEO
In 2003 I was diagnosed with diabetes type 1 at the age of 9.
After 20 years of giving myself injections every day, I decided that something has to change now.
I got my first insulin pump in June 2024 and from day one not just the pump but also the products of rubylimes made my life much easier.
When Frida announced that she had to give up rubylimes, my fiancée and I decided that this couldn't happen and we took over rubylimes in January 2025.

- Design - All cuts and designs are designed and implemented by us. Even if nobody sees it, we feel good when we wear beautiful underwear. Therefore, we not only think practical, but also want our customers to enjoy wearing our underwear.
- Fabrics & Materials - All fabrics and elastics we use are high stretch, so there is no cut in the skin and the panties can adapt ideally to the different body shapes. All fabrics and materials fulfil ecological standards sourced from European suppliers.
- Quality & Production - When choosing materials and processing, we pay attention to high quality and sustainability. Our garments are produced in the European Union. In the production of our products, we attach particular importance to fair working conditions.
